Planning for your big day is an exciting and fun process, yet at times it may be a little overwhelming since marriage is a first-time for many people. Here, we have put together a wedding planning timeline to show you what you have to do and when do you have to do it.
The ideal period for the planning process should start 12 months before the actual wedding day.
THE TIMELINE:
> 12 Months
- Meet the parents (this should be done shortly after the engagement)
- Set your wedding date
- Work out on the budget (Set asides the estimated figure for the various vendors)
- Resarch on Solemnisation Venue
- Research on Bridal Packages
- Research on Wedding Venues
- Start the excercise regime
12 Months
- Book the banquet venue (if your wedding date is a popular date, you need to book your wedding venue even earlier)
- Book Solemnisation venue (if different from Banquet Venue)
- Book your bridal package
- Annouce your engagement to your friends and relatives
- Contact your bridesmaid and bestman
8 Months
- Book the actual day videographer and photographer
- Book the makeup artist
- Book the live band
- Meet up with your bridal shop coordinator to select wedding gowns
5 – 6 Months
- Head down for Gown/suits fitting
- Trial Make-up session
- Shop for bridesmaid’s dress
- Take pre-wedding photos
- Prepare initial guest lists
- Prepare wedding favours (if banquet is not providing)
- Go for the banquet food tasting
4 Months
- Prepare the wedding invitation cards
- Book your Honeymoon
- Select pre-wedding photos
- Prepare the Childhood Photo Montage
3 Months
- Buy your wedding band
- Book your solemniser
- Head to ROM to file for marriage
- Revise on the guest list
- Purchase the wines
2 Months
- Prepare wedding speech
- Draft out the emcee script
- Send out invites
1 Month
- Make adjustment to Gowns/suits
- Confirm guests’ attendance and seating plan
- Buy the wedding shoes
- Meet up with the bridesmaid and bestman to finalise timeline
- Touch base with all the vendors
1 Week
- Facial
- Get haircut/trimmed
- Head down to ROM to collect Marriage Cert
- Remind guests
- Wedding rehearsal
- Enjoy a bachelor/bachelorette party!
1 Day
- Manicure/Pedicure
- Prepare Ang Paos for relatives and helpers
- Tie Car Ribbons
- Buy flower corsages, bridesmaid flower, flower bouquets etc
